The Grundy Art Gallery forms part of Blackpool Council’s Art Service. The gallery delivers projects to local residents, communities and schools and supports the local art community.Exhibitions have included work by critically acclaimed artists, including the recent exhibition ‘FEELINTHECAT’ by artist, Mark Leckey.
Upcoming Exhibition: Neon: The Charged Line (September 2nd – January 7th 2017)
Neon: The Charged Line will explore Blackpool’s longstanding history of showing neon works, and is part of LightPool at Blackpool Illuminations. The exhibition will include works from the Illuminations Archive and artworks from famous artists who have used neon in their artwork . In Britain, Blackpool was one of the first places to widely show neon in the early 1930s. The exhibition will explore how artists since then have examined the physical and scientific properties of a light designed to be seen rather than illuminate.

Get Involved: Open Exhibition for Schools
Light and Shade (working title)
Key Dates:
Exhibition Dates: (28th January- 10th March)
Submission Deadline for Artworks: Monday 19th December 2016
Theme: The theme of the Schools Exhibition is Light and Shade
Brief: The Schools Exhibition will explore Light and Shade, in reference to drawings and paintings. The exhibition will run for 6 weeks from the 28th January to the 10th March. Key works from Grundy Art Gallery’s collection will be selected as an inspiration for students.

Criteria: All works submitted would need to be no bigger than A4, for the works to shown in the exhibition. Individual and group submissions are welcome.
Installation: Submitted works will be projected onto the walls of the gallery, creating a dynamic viewing experience for the viewer.
